I also felt it was a good movie... seems though a lot of people went into this movie not knowing much about the characters... and then start complaining about how Reed didn't jump into doom's mouth and explode his guts everywhere by expanding again...

or that Sue didn't get naked and gyrate ... or that Johny didn't roast innocent bystanders

...I just don't know what people expected from this movie... like I say over in the spark tread... these are the designated drivers of the marvel U...

Your Doom puzzlement is justified, though i'm happy they only went with a partical 'ultimate' origin for him... the goat legs would have made me walk out.

I'm also happy they left the helmet as a secondary peice and didn't just turn his face into it.

so what's your 'non-toned down for spark's G rated boardethics' view of the film.

Fo' sho'! It's the Fantastic 4 not Batman or Spawn. It should just be a lot of fun and I really thought it was. I had a few gripes but that can be said about most good movies that are a lot of fun.

I thought the Thing looked awesome. People keep bitchign that they wanted a CG suit. Do these people not remember the Hulk? Second only to Batman and Robin as the worst comic movie ever made? DAmn... I mean people have been bitching that Lucas over CGs and now to be mad at a great realistic looking suit. It looks real 'cause it is real!

And Jessica Alba... I mean when she started stripping and went visible again... Oi...

Johnny and Ben were awesome with great chemistry. Jessica was hot. Reed wasn't anything amazing and a bit of a geek but that's Reed. Doom I found evil for no good reason and without his motivations properly layed out.

The Thing Looked Awesome? Am I missing the sarcasm? A spray foam suit that made the 94 version look cutting edge? I am not saying use CG but at least don't use special effects sculpters that have downs.

I thought Corky did a great job with the suit. Bah. If he was actually made of rock he wouldn't move so it has to be able to actually bend. I thought it was great and bah to anyone who doesn't like it.

Ebert has seen to many movies to be able to give a fair opinion on them.

Well no but he's probably desensitised to it. I would put my money on Ebert if he were to like.. predict the end of a movie or something. But to judge something for it's subjective entertainment value I would say he's been around the block so many times that he needs something weird to keep him entertained.

I would say just because you have seen everything and have the ability to call it derivative crap does not disqualify you from being objective.

no but when you say...

Mr. Fantastic is like the Incredables...

there is something obviously wrong with you... If he'd have said Mr. Fantastic is like the mom...FROM the incredables I'd let that slide on him just being ass backwards... but to say 1 guy is like a WHOLEFUCKINMOVIE...

then I can say he's ass backwards and stupid.

the only comicbook movie from the last few years you could even remotely draw comparisons to would be the incredables... which is SO obviously ment in tribute to the fantastic four that STAN LEE himself says.

"Everyone at marvel should fell really proud..." this is on the "stan's soapbox" dvd bonus feature from the new FF cartoon dvds.

Ebert must have had a brain fart sometime after he saw SinCity and Batman and forgot that not all movies in a "genra" need to be the same...

but then again he didn't like batman returns either... morron...

 wow I didn't think I had this kinda boiled up rage for the man..

To even mention that it's anything like the Incredibles is so mind blowingly retarded since the incredibles are essentailly a parody/rip off of the Fantastic 4.
