Here in Britain we have years, then the last, optional, two we call Sixth Form.

And do tell about the gift. And the girl. Beneath the raving lunaitcs exterior I enjoy hearing about this kind of thing.

So... there's not 1st through 5th form? Weird...

So in the gift were a bunch of chocolates which were super delicious and she made me two big pillows (as I'd mentioned I needed big pillows for my new place) one of which was a giant Salior Moon style crescent moon which is so totally awesome. Also some other personal things.

And the girl who I'm totally craZy about is Janine who you know from the board.

But yeah... we also grade beef but I'm not about to break it down into the etimology. They're all derived from the same thing.

*rolls eyes* Americans.

And Canadains...

And etimology is the study of insects. Not beef.

I mean this guy:

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=etymology

Quote:
et·y·mol·o·gy Audio pronunciation of "etymology" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (t-ml-j)
n. pl. et·y·mol·o·gies

1. The origin and historical development of a linguistic form as shown by determining its basic elements, earliest known use, and changes in form and meaning, tracing its transmission from one language to another, identifying its cognates in other languages, and reconstructing its ancestral form where possible.
2. The branch of linguistics that deals with etymologies.

[Middle English etimologie, from Old French ethimologie, from Medieval Latin ethimologia, from Latin etymologia, from Greek etumologi : etumon, true sense of a word; see etymon + -logi, -logy.

Do I need to get into the etymology of the word etymology now? -_-

Okay.

Yeah Mensa seems like a scam to me. "Give us your money and we'll give you a piece of paper to say you're smart.". Seems it's in their best interest to tell as many people as possible that they're smart. That doesn't make me feel good.

Well, even when I get my two points, I'm not joining.

You have to PAY and they're a bunch of snots. But look at the preedy letters you can put after your name...

Good show. Didn't know you could get letters at the end of your name for being a member. What are the letters?

If I get my professional engineer status I can put "P. Eng" at the end of my name. But I don't have many engineers where I work so I don't see that happening because you have to work under one and stuff.

MENSA

Technically I can put GCSE, if I don't fail my retake I can put AAT, and if I pass the last exam I took, IAB.

Ah okay. Yeah putting Mensa on like a business card or signing something would seem really pretentious to me.

*shrugs* It's a little difficult not to. Especially if you're British.
