I am Christian and stuff has happened to me to make me believe in God and stuff.

I am atheist because nothing has happened to me to make me believe in God and stuff.

Stuff has happened to me but I believe that god will send me where I'm most needed after I die to combat the forces of evil. I think this lifetime was a vacation of sorts (unless some shit goes down in 2012 and I become some sort of mad max type of guy) but either way this vacation isn't agreeing with me and I'm looking foward to getting back into action hopefully on another plane of existence where I'm slaughtering orcs and such.

Yeah I'm sure I'd be a bigger playing in something like a purgatory than a hell anyway.

So I'm curious, what would have to happen to you to believe in gawd short of an appearance by hisself? (herself?)

I didn't so much mean it that way as to say that I've never been presented with anything to indicate the existance of a higher power and in the absosense of even the smallest amount of evidence of something I'm enclined to no believe in it.

Quite to the contrary I've been exposed to mountains of evidence contradicting the ideas which support the existence of such a thing by any number of religious followings.

And what would it take? I'm not sure if anything would do. I mean just because something can't be explained doesn't mean there isn't a reasonable explanation and I've yet to be exposed to anything which didn't fall quite properly within the boundries of the logical Godless view of things I have.

I think, and it's hard to gather from all that LOL, that what you're saying is you'd have to have direct proof like gawd actually appearing or something and not say that you're miraculously cured of something.

Sort of yes. Also what I'm saying is it's not only evidence of God that I'd need but rather a lack of an overwhelming amount of evidence disproving what anyone believing in such a thing has suggested, and the right kind of proof. Just 'cause someone puts a speaker in my room and says "this is God..." doesn't mean I'll convert right away. If I lose an arm and it grows back... yeah that's a little better.

People would say obviously such clear signs would never happen but why not? The only logical reason for things like God, angels, devils, ghosts... to never make their existance obvious to the mortal realm is that such things don't exist. Anything else seems to be just people making excuses and hiding behind blanket statements like "I've got faith".

Sorry if it appears I was argumentative if that was the case. You know of course that I agree with you in this regard to religion and gawd (and hence I won't even spell it right or with a capital g).

Wasn't getting that impression at all. Just... I know I have trouble making the thoughts in my brain make sense when spoken is all.
