... and you have it on DVD in full screen which was like... 60$ a season I guess? It's been a while.

So what if it was available in a recent Japanese release in widescreen for ~100$ a season but still in English and that since it was an HD show it was originally made all in widescreen.

Would it be completely insane to spend 200$ to get this show with extra bits on the side? Hm....

There's a PAL widescreen version for ~45$ season 1 because it's discounted and the chance of a cheap enough season 2 PAL on ebay... hm... but then I'd have to deal with the loss of a PAL > NTSC conversion... which my player does but would probably not look quite as good as a straight up NTSC DVD like the one from Japan...

Here I was trying to spend less money this year. Those damned Japanese!

I think you have far too much Sailor Moon already.

Sailor Moon has always been full screen. In fact the TV series was always mono and the live action series in interlaced. -_-

Imagine it's Dr. Who.

I'm confused, in your first post you say it was always in HD widescreen but then this last ones says it was always full screen (which implies interlaced, just ask Ed on Monday eh LOL, most all tv prior to HD was 480i and alot still is, 480p is DVD generally, 1080i and 720p are the HD thingies).

BUt I guess the point is are you gonna be watching those over and over yet again? I wouldn't spend the $200 ... ie ... I'm not gonna be rushing out to buy HD DVD's to replace my DVD's when that happens by any means even when Frasier when HD

The show in question is HD. Sailor Moon never was. I'm just pointing out that Halden is wrong in guessing what show it was. My reasoning for not mentioning what it is is simply because I know my choice in television does not get respect in these circles (or any for that matter...) but I want people to give an impartial opinion.

And I was actually going to ask if you'd imagine it was Frasier for you. Hahaha. Kris can pretend it's B5. Daniel can pretend it's... oh... I don't know Firefly or a Bruce Campbell soft pr0n series. Janine can pretend it's some form of live action Yu-Gi-Oh series... though I'm sure I can't count on her support with the "annoying black bars". :p

Well I'm in a weird situation where I have a bunch of money in the bank and nothing pressing to spend it on but, in the long term, expensive thoughts in the back of my head like... house, wedding, appliances and stuff like that. Hence the trying to be better with the money. I've always been one to spend a vulgar amount of my own money on frivolous things.

It would be a great idea to sock away as much as you can to avoid the less than 25% down house downpayment at some point given the raw amount of money you're taking in above your salary.

If I got a house today I'd be able to put down about half of that if I was lucky for a cheap house. If I aim for that goal it will be a good 2 more years in saving I think. Been putting some away in RRSPs and will be doing the same again for the 2005/2006 years which is something.

And dont' forget the basement renovations for the Sailor Moon Dungeon, that's 10k extra.

I've already factored that in.

No I would not, even for the Good Doctor. I resisted getting season one from the UK and will await its release here in february. I cannot imagine spending 200$ on any DVD set, I recoil in disgust whenever I purchase an 80$ HBO series.

2 sets!

Dave said he'd do it. I knew he would...

I'm still not decided.
