It was a toss up between Constantine and Narnia for me. Surely they are both better than Sin City though.
Now if Jessica Alba was a stripper in one of the two...

Man, and I wrote the entire thing so you'd like me.
*insert random Ben Stiller/Dr. Who/short stature joke of you choice here*
Being the 14th best movie in a year of near complete garbage is not the glowing endorsement you might think it is.

I thought it was a good year. The top 7 at least were pretty awesome. That's where I would draw my purchase cutoff if I did not know that relatives do/will own 6 & 7 anyway.
Comparing to last year:
Top 10 movies:
10: Hellboy
9: Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
8: The Chronicles of Riddick
7: Spider-Man 2
6: I, Robot
5: The Incredibles
4: Blade Trinity
3: Saved
2: Jersey Girl
1: Cutie Honey
Where I ended up getting 1 & 3-7 & 10 of those top 10. 2, 8 & 9 owned by siblings... and would have bought Jersey Girl and Riddick had Daniel not for sure but probably not Dodgeball... comic movies are more purchaseable than comedies of equivalent enjoyability by a geek like me...
Hm... I'd be so rich if I only bought the 10 best movies of any given year. Though my real type movies are like 1 shelf of 8 right now...

Yes I enjoy tose things but might not say they are the greatest of the year (other than Doctor WHo which is the best show on TV) Newport Restaurant wrote: Being the 14th best movie in a year of near complete garbage is not the glowing endorsement you might think it is.
Having seen either Coach Carter or Sky High ranks up there with you brother's obsession with Alba.

Eric is NOT obsessed with Alba.
Oh you mean... oh um... well she's not the hottest girl I've ever seen. :p Top 5 for sure...

Well considering my basketball obsession, it shouldn't be a surprise.

Was H making fun of Sky High? I liked it, but then all my taste in is my mouth. I've not clue when a movie came out and I'm much much too lazy to go look it up, so the best movies I've seen in 2005, and in no order 'cause I'm also way too lazy to think much about which I liked better and why ... SEEN:
1. Batman Begins
2. Crash
3. Cinderella Man
4. Mystic River
Nothing really stands out for me but I'm old and cranky and I can reel off things like, "They don't make movies like they used to" ... I find Vince Vaughn funny in just about anything including Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Wedding Crashers, and I had no idea he was in Be Cool which I watched last night on TMN. The 40 Year Old Virgin was okay until it turned to the actual love story and then it petered out ... Madagascar has some good points and again it died quick though. The homages to Planet of the Apes and The Day The Earth Stood Still in the middle when they get to the island well I laughed my ass off.
aDam and I were yapping at work about how neither of us have seen any movie in the some of the critics top 10. I probably won't see most of them until they're on TMN I'll wager, Brokeback Mountain in particular as I won't pay for a ticket to go see it. If I'm going to the big screen give me affects, I can watch drama at home.
Some of the worst movies I've seen are probably from 2004 because of the TMN factor ... 2 I couldn't watch all the way through include Napoleon Dynamite and Miss Congeniality 2 (and don't ask why I even started to watch it I don't know). Catwoman ... haven't seen Elektra yet ... The Pacifier, ummm, errrrr ... I'll be back I'm sure when everyone tells me how great Napoleon Dynamite was ... I didn't think I was too old for sarcasm and irony but it was just too dumb and slow for me.
