When Firefly first aired I wtched it optimistically. After 10 minutes I get angry and changed the channel as the show was ass. Much to my surprise the masses of geeks turned out in hordes to praise this show. I was convinced they would simply eat up any crap Joss Whedon crapped out since they just loved Buffy so much. I never wanted to give it another shot.

So my brother bought the DVDs and has been watching them lately. Tonight I was over there and they were all sitting down to watch and I figured I would be the open minded person that I am and give an episode a shot and probably get up when it's done and leave with my opinion of it fortified.

...

4 episodes later... this show is awesome. I was totally wrong. I can't wait to watch the rest and then check out the movie.

This show makes a believer out of everyone. It's like the messiah of science fiction. It has united the INTERNET in peace and harmony. Like you I refused to watch it because of having only watched a few minutes of it and not liking it as well. Now I will submit to it's everlasting love and give it the chance to enter my heart so that I may live in paradise eternal.

No. It's just that not one single person I interact with on the INTERNET who has seen this dislikes it. Which is a good thing and makes me want to see it too. One guy I know is actually offering to refund my money if I don't like the movie.

No. I made fun of him for weeks before trying to give an episode a chance.

Are you admitting that you might have jumped the gun on your intial opinion of this show? I am shocked.....

I actually laughed out loud when I saw that you had flipped/flopped on Firefly.

Soooo will we be seeing new posts about the sub par art cover on the Serenity DVD soon?

I've never been one to have a problem admitting I misjudged something. I make a lot of judgements of things I don't know much about. Usually these things turn out to be crap like I expected (like for example with Saw which I wached last night) but when I'm wrong I'm not about to be stubborn and not admit it. People just assume I wouldn't do that.

I netflixed the series ("netflix", like "google" before it, has now passed into popular vernacular as a verb), and while I've watched the first few eps thus far (yes, it's good, and yes, I'm enjoying it), I'm not ape shit crazy about it like everybody else on the innerweb seems to be.

It picks up at 'Our Mrs Reynolds' and pretty much doesn't let up until the end.
