Post subject:  my meaning of life

Get ready here it is:
Life is all about having your "present" you be able to whip the ass of the "one year ago" you.
If you cant beat up "past" you (physically, mentally, professionally, ...whatever) then you have seriously fallen off track. I feel that "2004" me could lay a hurt piece-ing on "2003" me. That dude was a fucking whiny pussy. I strive to have future me beat the asses of me now...which would then be "past" me. The day "Future" me cant beat up "past" me is the day I buy a gun. Because then whats the point.
Got it?

But unless you lost that gun then future you would still have it.

Anyway I could for sure beat up 2003 aDam in a fight. No challenge. Maybe there are certain other days this year where I couldn't beat myself up but that's more bad days than any sort of general decline.

As far as intellect at a very young age you start losing more brain cells than you make. Still we learn stupid crap every day. I would like to think I get smarter to some capacity every day. I'm sure 16 year old Adam could beat me at a biology test he'd just studied for but I'm not sure how that knowledge could help that much.

Anyway good phylosophy. Life is certianly better when you don't feel yourself declining in ever way without hopes of reclaiming your former greatness. This is why it must suck to be an ex child star or something.

I'm sure you may change your minds when you get older.

So are you buying that gun to off yourself or protect yourself from last years badder self?

Well better him than you. I mean if you're shot by your future self then you're both gone. If you off your future self than you've got that much longer to live... ignoring this most basic of time paradoxes of your future self not being around to kill you of course.

Anyway I wouldn't say life is in every way supperior when you're getting stronger and smarter. It's just better in some ways. I mean someone could be in a cage until they're 75 and then get out and can be truly happy for 2 years before they die and they are stupider and weaker than when they were 20.

I doubt there was anyone who was smarter when they were 20 than later on in life ... possible, but very unlikely. You're diss'n old people eh ... I'm coming over there to beat you with my cane.

Well it depends. Memory and stuff starts to go. Knowledge is better. Lots of different kinds of smarts in the world. I think a 20 year old could out puzzle a 75 year old but get slaughtered at Trivial Pursuit.

So if you're 75 and slightly less acute at pop culture references you should probably off yourself? Knowledge is better ... but you're not thinking of equating knowledge with wisdom in that sense though.

Well no. I guess there are just a billion parts to thought most of which improve with age but some of which deteriorate with general brain deterioration. I just always have this idea of being 100 and stupid. Hopefully there will be a cure for everything by then and that it will still be free in Canada.

kerouac was a gifted coward. he spent his entire life running away from responsibility, yet yet about it in such a beautiful manner. the more you read kerouac, the less you'll attempt to do with your life. get your shit together and get a job.

My new signature file may help find the true path?

"One symptom of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is incredibly important" - Bertrand Russel

"We must get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us" - Joseph Campbell

Maybe this book could help too ... 16-0951365
