Lookie ... my very first post ... and I'll do it in a non-controversial area I figure. Man, you need more conflict in your life if your only problem in August is foreign titles in IMDB. Where would you draw the line on foreign titles? Anything non-english or does Men With Brooms count?

It was a month that bombarded me with much aggravation where I found myself unusually unaggravated. So yeah when I'm not really upset I have to whine about stupid stuff. And that's partially why this beef came so late.

Post subject:  why do I have to fill this in

Ya... I had a problem similar, they listed a movie with a title that it was not released as, and only by looking at the actors in it, did I find the alt title

-_-

Well that's well and good if you can reckognise the names but more often than not I have no idea who the actors in some random Chinese, Japanese or Korean movie are. If it's anime then I might especially if it's dubbed.

Generally I can tell from the movie poster they throw up in there but they don't always have it.

hmm.. then would it not be easier to try and find the actor/ress on google or something, or is that not an option...

... reminds me of the garfield image `lol` too much thought into it ;)

Hey I still got a picture it just took me 30 times longer and it was a little stamp sized piece of crap.

Who's putting too much thought, me or you ... or both? Googling actors and stuff seems like a bit of trouble.

Although you can always just scroll all the way down past all the credits and check out the "Also Known As" section. Is that quicker than google? Depends on whether you're better at scrolling or typing.

Actually the board clock is Fed in the A. You see GMT by default. That post is actually from 10:45pm. You can set the time zone in your profile to be GMT -4 to get the right time for EST which is the time zone for everyone who matters.

I am not 7331 enough to have figured out how to change the default time zone on the board... if such a thing is even possible. They seem to want you to configure that on your own to make the board more universal. I'm not so open minded and am more interested in accomodating my peeps in EST.

edit: Okay I changed the default time zone for the board. Not sure if all the old users are still in GMT or not. You may need to go through and manually change it in your profile. This reply here should be 4:16pm if you're EST.

Maybe you should use online-dictionary, for examle http://multitran.ru/c/m.exe?a=default1&SHL=1&HL=1 :)
Anyway imdb not least bad movie data base in the world and, I think, non-Enlish nativs deserves to use it :)

It's not a matter of me being incapable of translating. It's just needlessly complicated. I mean if I want to know the English title looking at the alternate titles section then spending a vulgar amount of time looking for a tranlator.

The issue of whether or not this should be available to foreign people is not relevant to this. The site itself is English. Should there be a different version in another language then in that case the alternate title should be displayed.
