"Dubs never ever ever have honorifics" is actually not quite true. Off the top of my head I can think of Strawberry Eggs and Ai Yori Aoshi.

In general I agree though. Using Japanese honorifics in English just doesn't make sense.

Well I haven't seen Strawberry Eggs and Ai Yori Aoshi but if dubs have started using honorifics then I have lost my faith in humanity.

Although thinking back I seem to recall some really bad dub I saw a while ago that may have used them. I can't remember what that could have been though. I think I assumed a little too much common sense when making that comment.

edit: okay I just looked into it and am seeing a bunch of people mention how Strawberry Eggs has honorifics. I think some people need to get fired or something.

Apparently a show called "Betterman" has honorifics in the dub too.

Anyway chell out a good example of the kind of person I hate:
Highlighting the English dub is a superb voice cast and an accurate script that retains a ton of Japanese words and all the honorifics. Keeping the honorifics was a good choice and it doesn't hurt the acting at all. In fact, it actually strengthens it. Lip flap isn't a real problem, and honestly I wish a lot of shows would take this series' lead and keep more of their shows as untouched. DVD really is the perfect format for keeping things uncut.
