This is a kickass sport. The name pretty much says it all. Whenever the 'rents go out of town for more than a few days me and my brother get a few bags of apples, grab the bat and head out into the field in the middle of the night.

It's great fun. You just throw the apple up in the air and take a hard swing at it. With a good hit you'll get bits of apple all over and a spray of juice all over you.

I suggest everyone should try this game out.

Dangerous? Well I guess that depends on where the fence is. This apple baseball was out in a pretty isolated field. The only people to go that far off the path would be people running their dogs. I guess people could slip on bits but within a day the racoons, rabbits and groundhogs took off with most of the bigger pieces.

I guess onto pavement that would be pretty dangerous. And lemons are hard skinned.

Next time we're thinking of incorporating some new kinds of fruit. I think apples have a really good ratio of hard skin but not too hard to soft inside. I think something like a peach or plumb would be really good. Oranges were mentioned. I don't know if we could get through the skin.

A lemon tree in the backyard? Cool. You must be able to make fresh lemonade all the time. Yeah somehow I didn't even think of hitting people with the lemons.
